In fall of 2007, 20 Connor House members walked the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure after a Davidson ’77 alum and Circle Up team member read about Bosom Buddies’ success in the Davidson Journal and contacted the house. Like Connor, Circle Up is a social and support network of friends dedicated to finding a solution for breast cancer. Many Circle Up members have battled or are still battling breast cancer. They came together to “circle up” a group of women who had been affected by the disease. Every year since 2007, members of Connor House have proudly walked alongside the Circle Up team, which is now the largest team in the annual Charlotte Race. Our connection with Circle Up is intended to foster relationships and increase the networks of both groups. This year, over 50 Connor girls walked with Circle Up at Race for the Cure, along with 15 freshmen who came along as well as members from other Patterson Court Organizations. At our event every year, Circle Up sponsors a table and contributes items to our auction. We hope to continue growing in our relationship with the women of Circle Up for years to come.
Thanks to all those who joined us for the 2018 Race!
